On Wednesday, February 4, at 6:30 p.m., Beargrass Creek Alliance and Bellarmine’s University’s School of Environmental Studies will host a conversation featuring Maria Koetter, Louisville Metro Government’s sustainability director. This event on Bellarmine’s campus is free and open to the public.

Attendees will learn about water issues in Louisville and discuss environmental concerns with Louisville’s sustainability director. The meeting takes place in Hilary’s, on the middle level of Bellarmine’s Horrigan Hall. [campus map]

The Louisville Metro Office of Sustainability was created in 2012; Koetter, who has extensive experience in the environmental field, is the office’s first director. The city published its first sustainability plan, Sustain Louisville, in 2013.  

This event is presented by Beargrass Creek Alliance, Bellarmine University's School of Environmental Studies and Louisville Metro Government.

The Beargrass Creek Alliance is a grassroots group seeking to preserve Louisville’s greatest natural resource through community involvement. Their mission is to raise awareness about Beargrass Creek and make it clean, safe and accessible for all. The alliance operates under the umbrella of the non-profit Kentucky Waterways Alliance.
