In the latest episode of Bellarmine Magazine’s podcast -- The Pineapple -- the dean of Bellarmine’s W. Fielding Rubel School of Business, Dr. Sharon Kerrick,
discusses how her professional experience has led to her preparing future business
professionals in an academic environment.
Drawn in by Bellarmine's tight-knit sense of community, Dr. Kerrick says her role
as the business school’s dean is similar to being in the business world, combining
organizational skills and communication within an academic organization.
Always keeping her eyes on the future and ensuring that Bellarmine’s business students
are well prepared for post-graduate endeavors, Kerrick emphasizes the need to equip
students with the skills they’ll need to be successful, such as teamwork, technological
integration and adaptability within the workplace.
In order to help students put their best professional foot forward, Kerrick explains
the improvements that have been made to Bellarmine’s MBA program, such as minimized
credit hours and overall cost, and how these changes will impact students’ ability
to make connections in the business industry.
“We’re trying to teach people, how do you make that business connection if it’s just
a Skype or a Facetime,” said Kerrick. “How are you making that connection, and being
very purposeful about how you’re making those connections to be successful?”
