Program Overview
The Bachelor of Arts in Marketing program in the W. Fielding Rubel School of Business will prepare students for a variety of professional opportunities in sales, product management, marketing research, retailing, advertising, business-to-business marketing, international marketing, and other aspects of the field.
In addition to Business Administration degree courses, Marketing majors will complete courses in the areas of marketing research, digital marketing, professional selling, consumer behavior, and marketing strategy.

Internships and Real-World Learning
Louisville offers a dynamic environment for marketing students to gain real-world experience. Through internships and applied learning opportunities, students work with local businesses, nonprofits, and organizations connecting classroom concepts with real marketing challenges, producing a portfolio employers look for after graduation.

Faculty Mentorship and AMA Involvement
Marketing majors work closely with faculty mentors who help guide academic choices, internships, and career preparation. Students can also participate in the American Marketing Association and attend professional conferences with faculty. These experiences provide valuable networking opportunities and exposure to the latest trends in marketing.

Bellarmine University's Rubel School of Business produces the Bellarmine on Business podcast. Each monthly episode features lively discussions with faculty and/or alumni. Episodes focus on the economy, finance, marketing, HR, the law, business strategy, and more.
Dr. Carla Childers
Dr. Childers is an associate professor of Marketing. She earned her Ph.D. and MBA
from the University of Kentucky and her bachelor's degree in Business Administration
with a specialization in Marketing from Kentucky State University. Dr. Childers previously
spent 12 years on the faculty at Ohio University. Her research interests are in the
areas of consumer behavior and services marketing and her publications cover topics
including service quality, place branding, hospitality and tourism, and marketing
pedagogy. Prior to earning her doctorate, Dr. Childers served as a full-time instructor
at Kentucky State University, worked as a rental representative at Enterprise Rent-A-Car,
and was the market research coordinator for Knight Ridder at the Lexington Herald-Leader
newspaper. She has professional experience in advertising, sales, market research,
and retailing. Currently, Dr. Childers serves on the American Marketing Association
Collegiate Chapters Council and as co-chair for the annual International AMA Collegiate
Conference.
