ROLLER GIRL Growing up in Louisville , Brooke loves cartoons, partic ularly The Powerpuff Gi rls, crime-fighti ng cutie s powered by “Che mic al X.” She identi fie s with Butte rcup: “She ’s the toughe st.” And she can fly! “Brooke is one of those people for whom there is no separation between ‘life’ and ‘art.’ Her work is influenced by films, graphic novels, music and fashion, as well as online and underground popular entertainment.” —Laura Hartford, chair of Bellarmine’s Art Department 36 BELLARM INE MAGAZINE After graduating from Assumption, Brooke enrolls at Bellarmine, where she explores digital art and web design. “I learned the different things I could do with my art. I got introduced to artists I wouldn’t have known of otherwise. it encouraged me to pursue my weird interests.” She joins the Louisville Cartoonist Societ y and starts showing at the Tim Faulk ner Galle ry, quickl y buil ding a group of collect ors.
