How to Apply: Transfer Students

Degree-Seeking Student

A degree-seeking student wishes to seek formal admission to Bellarmine to pursue a bachelor’s on a full or part-time basis. The following items are required for admission: 

  1. A completed online application.
  2. For students who have earned more than 60 credit hours, an official transcript from each college/university attended is required.
  3. For students who have earned between 24 and 60 credit hours, an official high school transcript or GED score and an official transcript from each college/university attended is required.
  4. For students who have earned fewer than 24 credit hours:
  • An official high school transcript or GED score and an official transcript from each college/university attended is required. 
  • Official ACT or SAT scores are required of applicants who have been out of high school five years or less.
  • Statement of purpose (200 words, typed) outlining academic and professional goals. 
  1. For applicants for whom English is their second language, a TOEFL, IELTS or MELAB score is required. 

Non-Degree Student

A non-degree student is a student who does not seek formal admission to Bellarmine for a degree, but who would like to enroll for classes. If the student decides to change to degree seeking, the student must follow the application procedures for a degree student as listed above. The following items are required:

  1. A completed online application.
  2. For students taking courses with prerequisites, an unofficial transcript is required to determine if prerequisite courses have been met. 
  3. For applicants for whom English is their second language, a TOEFL, IELTS or MELAB score is required.

Visiting Student

A visiting student is a student who is formally admitted and enrolled at another college and wishes to take classes at Bellarmine. The following items are required:

  1. A completed online application.
  2. For students taking courses with prerequisites, an unofficial transcript is required to determine if prerequisite courses have been met.

Readmit Student

A "readmit" student is a student who has previously attended Bellarmine. The following items are required:

  1. A completed online application.
  2. Official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended since last admission to Bellarmine.

Audit Student

An audit student is a student who wishes to enroll in classes at Bellarmine but does not earn college credit. Audit students are not responsible for class assignments or tests.

Current audit tuition.

The following items are required:

  1. A completed online application.
  2. For students taking courses with prerequisites, an unofficial transcript is required to determine if prerequisite courses have been met.

Official Transcript Information

Applicants must request official transcripts to be mailed from each college/university they have attended. An official transcript is one that is mailed directly to Bellarmine University’s Office of Admission and should not be marked “Issued to Student”, addressed to the student, or hand delivered by the student. It is the student’s responsibility to request all official transcripts.
