African and African American Diaspora Studies

Bellarmine has just created a new minor program in African and African American Diaspora Studies (AAADS). This minor is housed within and administrated by the Sociology program and its faculty. The minor requires 18 credit hours with three core requisite courses (i.e. SOC 202 Introduction to African Diaspora and African American Experience, ENGL 225 African American Literature, HIST 320 Modern Africa) plus an additional three elective courses. The curriculum draws together course offerings across various departments on campus. In addition to core courses, students will have flexibility to shape the minor/elective course selections to meet their interests and intended careers.
