The Bellarmine Theatre program offers a number of partial scholarships to incoming Theatre majors. These scholarships are renewable for a maximum of eight semesters provided:
- you maintain a 2.0 GPA
- remain a Theatre major and an active participant in the program
- maintain ongoing participation in Alpha Psi Omega the National Honor Society in Theatre
The Office of Financial Aid will help determine your award amount. This award would be in addition to any other scholarship(s) awarded by the university.
Application Process
To apply for this scholarship, you must submit an essay describing your involvement in theatre to date, what draws you to theatre, and your goals in theatre.
In addition, students must audition, send in a portfolio of theatre design work or be interviewed.
- Actors: Students may schedule an in-person audition or submit a video recording of two contrasting monologues (.mp4 or a similar format).
- Theatre Technologists (sound, lighting, costume design): Students must submit a digital portfolio of their previous work.
- Stage Management and other area heads: For students interested in stage management or other areas of theatre where a portfolio or audition is not applicable, please contact the Theatre Department to set up an in-person or phone interview.
Applications and all related materials must be submitted prior to the final Friday in May unless other arrangements have been agreed to in advance.
