Dual Credit Education Program

The Annsley Frazier Thornton School of Education (AFTSE) provides dual credit education courses to students enrolled in the Teaching, Learning & Leadership pathway programs at six high schools in Jefferson County Public Schools. This partnership with Ballard, Butler, Doss, Eastern, Male Traditional, and Waggener High Schools enables students to take college level courses that will transfer to Bellarmine and other Kentucky schools. This enriched pathway also offers students opportunities to explore the teaching profession, clinical experiences in K-12 classrooms, and provides an introduction to the college experience (including visits to Bellarmine's campus). Pathway teachers, who are adjunct faculty members in Bellarmine's School of Education, are master educators selected for their expertise and passion for the teaching profession.
The AFTSE offers the following dual education credit:
- Typical & Atypical Childhood Development, Part A (EDUC 102)
- Foundations of Education (EDUC 200)
- Special Topics in Elementary (EDUC 436)
