Kappa Delta Pi (KDP), established in 1911, is the International Honor Society in Education. Its membership is limited to the top 20 percent of those entering the field of education. KDP is also one of the first discipline-specific honor societies.
Over the past year, Bellarmine’s Alpha Gamma Epsilon chapter has been very active. In October 2018, faculty sponsors and officers attended the international convocation in Indianapolis. This was an enlightening experience, and the chapter officers and sponsors hope to attend another convocation in the future. The following January, the School of Education inducted 37 new members into the chapter. In the spring of 2019, KDP sponsored a panel for education students and a screening of “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” Most recently, in the fall of 2019, more than 180 qualifying potential inductees were invited to join the chapter.
Bellarmine’s KDP chapter is excited to be working with the university’s new chapter of Educators Rising as it looks forward to another interesting, fruitful, and activity-filled year.
