All F-1 and J-1 visa holders, and dependent family members must have health insurance for the duration of their program at Bellarmine. Insurance is provided through Bellarmine University and is included in the cost of attendance calculations.
In some countries, insurance may be available that covers an insured when they travel. Unfortunately, these policies do not normally pay directly and you must pay “out of pocket” if sick or injured and be reimbursed afterward. This can be quite expensive in the United States. Additionally, the Federal Government requires the policy to explicitly cover medical evacuation and repatriation.
Currently Bellarmine secures your insurance through Cultural Insurance Services International (CISI). Bellarmine will apply for your coverage and, prior to your arrival, you will receive your Proof of Insurance via email delivery to your Bellarmine email address.
