Spring Break 2019

March 1, 2019

This spring, while many students travel for a weeklong getaway and relaxation, dozens of Bellarmine students take their time away from campus to serve others.

One such tradition is Alternative Spring Break. Students travel to New Orleans, Louisiana; Memphis, Tennessee; David, Kentucky; Selma, Alabama; and Charleston, South Carolina to partner with local nonprofits for a variety of need-based service work, including home restoration, working alongside educators with local schoolchildren, and addressing food security needs.

Students on the trip next week will share their experiences on Snapchat, so be sure to follow @bellarmineu to see their stories.

Another spring break tradition is the Guatemala service trip, in partnership with Hearts in Motion. This trip has quite a public presence on campus, with students hosting fundraisers year-round to support the trip, where students, faculty and staff help to provide medical assistance, build schools and offer other aid.

Other various trips our students are involved in include:

·       2/27 – 3/3: Alpha Psi Omega to Southeastern Theatre Conference in Knoxville, TN

·       3/1 – 3/3: Bellarmine University Gaming Club to Cincy Con in Hamilton, OH

·       3/1 – 3/3: Delta Sigma Pi to Lead Conference in Atlanta, GA

Students will be on break beginning Saturday, March 2, and will return to class Monday, March 11.
