At the Alpha Delta Gamma National Fraternity's recent 80th National Convention in Washington, D.C., Bellarmine's Xi chapter was recognized as the fraternity's most outstanding chapter.

Alpha Delta Gamma was founded in 1924 at Loyola University Chicago. The founders based their new fraternity on five basic principles, known as the Five S's: spiritual, scholastic, service, school spirit and social.

“Xi has done some really good work the last few years and it is amazing to see where they were just five or six years ago to where they are now," said the organization's national president, Christopher Sapp. "They are one of the best example of living the Five S's that ADG has.”

Alpha Delta Gamma currently maintains 11 chapters and four colonies spanning all parts of the country. Alpha Delta Gamma is a North-American Interfraternity Conference member and the oldest national Catholic fraternity in the country.

Bellarmine's Alpha Delta Gamma chapter was chartered in 1961 and will celebrate 50 years on the campus this weekend.
