Catholic journalist Robert Mickens (Twitter: @robinrome) will present a lecture titled “Fifty Years After the Council: A Pope for Vatican
II Catholics” at Bellarmine University on Thursday, September 17.
Mickens, a Rome-based journalist, has reported and commented on the Vatican and the
Catholic Church for the past three decades.
He is the editor of Global Pulse, an online magazine launched in late 2014 by the Union of Catholic Asian News in
collaboration with the French daily paper La Croix and the U.S. magazine Commonweal.
He has long been a Vatican affairs analyst for the BBC in the United Kingdom, ABC
in Australia and National Public Radio in the United States. Born in Toledo, Ohio
in 1964, he has lived in Rome since 1986.
The lecture will be held in Hillary's at 6 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, and is
free and open to the public. Hillary's is located in Treece Hall. [campus map]
