MKTO will perform at Bellarmine University’s annual Hillside concert on Friday, March
27, at 7:30 p.m. in Knights Hall. The concert is presented by the Bellarmine Activities
Council and is open to the public.
MKTO is the musical duo Malcolm Kelley and Tony Oller. They met on the set of Teen
Nick’s "Gigantic" in 2010, and their shared interest in music brought them together
as friends. Their first single, “Thank You,” gained over 500,000 views on YouTube
in one day and reached one million views in three days. Their second single, “Classic,”
has gone double-platinum in the US.
Their self-titled debut album was released on January 30, 2014. It features a blend
of pop, hip-hop and rhythm and blues.
Louisville-based electro pop band The Pass will open for MKTO. The Pass bring a fusion of psychedelic rock, mainstream pop and
'80s dance with haunting melodies and dance beats to the stage. Concertgoers can expect
a raucous performance to get their energy up for the main event.
Hillside is an annual spring concert series at Bellarmine, named for its original
location on the hill behind the George G. Brown Activity Center. Previous performances
include Twenty One Pilots, Phillip Phillips and Maroon 5.
Tickets go on sale to the public on March 1 for $20; tickets on the main floor will
be available to the public beginning March 10 at noon. A pre-sale for current Bellarmine
students begins on Monday, February 23, with tickets available for $7. There is a
limit of two tickets per student at that price. Tickets will be available in Bellarmine's online box office at http://www.BellarmineTickets.com.
