Monaghan is a senior secondary education major from Louisville, with a minor in theology. She has served as a student teacher at Iroquois High School, is a member of honors societies for history and education, served as a peer tutor and completed her capstone research paper on Thomas Merton and racial justice. She was a student co-director for Bellarmine’s inaugural summer experience program for first-year students. She teaches religious education on Sundays for middle school students at her parish, where she also coaches girls basketball.
Cartor is a senior mathematics major
from Louisville who plays for Bellarmine's NCAA Division I lacrosse team. At Bellarmine,
he has served as a peer tutor in math, a member of the orientation team for first-year
students and a founding member of the Mathematics honor society. He is
part of Bellarmine's Honors Program. He has taken part in numerous service projects
with his lacrosse teammates, and he is part of a program that teaches local children
the Chinese language. Cartor was traveling with the lacrosse team and couldn't attend
the homecoming ceremony. Members of the Knight of Honor Court embody the values of
Bellarmine University: hospitality, illumination, inspiration and the inclusive spirit
of Thomas Merton. They are role models who effectively balance academics with community
involvement.
