Perry Sangalli '80, president of Saint Xavier High School, passes away
May 6, 2019

On Sunday evening, Louisville's Saint Xavier High School shared the sad news that its president, Dr. Perry Sangalli, had died. Sangalli, who graduated from Bellarmine
University in 1980 with a bachelor's degree in education and history, is a member
of the university's Gallery of Distinguished Graduates.
"We are saddened by the passing of our friend and alum, Perry Sangalli," said Dr.
Glenn Kosse, vice president for development and alumni relations at Bellarmine. "As
a visionary educational leader, Perry helped mold the path of thousands of young St.
Xavier men, many of whom continued their education at Bellarmine. We share our deepest
sympathies with his family and the entire St. X community." Sangalli graduated from
St. X in 1976 and had been the school's president since 2001. Last month, he announced
that he had cancer and would take a leave of absence from the school. The high school
will announce funeral arrangements once they are finalized.
