Teacher Leader: Individualized Plan Program

This program offers flexibility in the four cognate courses in the program. The six core Teacher Leader program courses are taken with the ability to choose the four elective courses you would like to take. You have the option of taking Literacy Specialist, STEAM, or Trauma Informed Practices courses. You would work with your advisor to develop a course plan that meets your interests and needs.

MAEd Literacy Specialist Certification Grades P-12

Become a literacy expert with our MAEd Literacy Specialist Certification. Develop vital skills to foster reading, writing, and communication proficiency in students grades P-12. Lead the way in nurturing lifelong learners through comprehensive literacy education.

  1. Completed Application.
  2. Maintain cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.75 (on a 4.0 scale), with a 3.00 GPA in the undergraduate major.
  3. Submit an Educational Autobiography and Personal Goals Statement.
  4. Provide email addresses for two professional references within the online application. One reference must be from the applicant’s current school principal (or designee). The second should be from someone who has supervised the applicant and can attest to their potential as a graduate student, such as a teaching colleague, department chair, employer or former professor. Personal references are not accepted.
  5. Submit a copy of the applicant’s teaching certificate.
  6. Request final official transcripts from each college or university attended to be sent to the Office of Graduate Admission. Transcripts should not be marked “Issued to Student.” If transcripts or degrees are from an international institution, they must be evaluated by the Bellarmine International Programs Office. The Office of Graduate Admission reserves the right to request a certified copy of the original transcript(s).
