Show House to extend run until Sunday, Sept. 28

Having lost nearly a week of its run because of a power outage, the Bellarmine Women’s Council Designers’ Show House will extend until Sunday, September 28. The Show House was originally scheduled to run from Sept. 6-21.

The Show House is located at 6005 Springhouse Farm Lane, off Lime Kiln Lane. The house is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Tuesday and Thursdays 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Sunday Noon – 7 p.m. Admission is $12 at the door.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (August 5, 2008)—This year the Bellarmine University Women’s Council celebrates their 45th anniversary and 35th Annual Designers’ Show House, The Manor House at Glenview Springs. This year’s show house is located at 6005 Springhouse Farm Lane (off Lime Kiln Lane) and the dates for this event will be Sept. 6 – 21. Parking will be available on site.

The Manor House at Glenview Springs sits on a natural plateau of 1.77 acres overlooking a stone bridge and the original springhouse. This landmark home was built in 1841 by John Throckmorton Bate. The 2008 Designers’ Show House will include 26 design areas with more than 8,500 square feet and feature interiors designed by over 45 Louisville-area designers.

Show House hours are Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (Meet the designers from 5 – 7 p.m.); and Sunday, noon to 7 p.m. Doors will close 30 minutes prior to published closing times. The Boutique is open same as the Show House hours. This year the Café will be catered by A WILD THYME CATERING. Hours for lunch are: Monday through Saturday 11:00 – 2:30 p.m. and Sunday 12:30 – 3:30 p.m.

Admission is $12 at the door. Beginning Aug. 23, advance tickets may be purchased for $10 at the following locations: Colonial Designs (3712 Lexington Rd.); Details Design Group (13833 English Villa Drive); Domain Interiors (3922 Willis Avenue); Hubbuch & Co. The Bellarmine University Women’s Council was formed in 1963 and currently has membership of approximately 400 women from the Louisville area. The Council introduced the Designers’ Show House in 1974 and has contributed more than $1.4 million of proceeds from this annual event to the Bellarmine Student Financial Aid Fund. The Council also supports and assists Bellarmine in its cultural affairs, campus beautification, athletic and library programs.
