Dear Knights Nation,
My ears are still ringing and my heart is still soaring following Tuesday’s exciting and historic men’s basketball game in Freedom Hall. What an accomplishment: our first NCAA Division I conference trophy in just our second year as a DI team!
Sincere thanks and praise go to our amazing student-athletes; Coach Scott Davenport and his coaching staff; the entire Athletics staff for hosting the game; and our cheer and dance teams and the pep band for helping to fire up the crowd.
And what a crowd! As part of the second-largest audience ever to attend an ASUN Conference Championship game, Knights Nation truly made Freedom Hall “our house.” We are so proud that this incredible team proved they deserved a spot in the Big Dance. They will always be part of Bellarmine history.
Please join me in honoring them at Bellarmine’s ASUN Championship Celebration at 4 p.m. Monday in the Centro Atrium. The celebration is open to the Bellarmine community and will also be livestreamed on our Facebook page. I hope to see you there.
