Course Description

Books Behind Bars is a course which brings together college students and prison inmates to discuss contemporary issues in our society. Male inmates at Kentucky State Reformatory in LaGrange are used in the program. All inmates are carefully screened before entering the program.

Academic Credit

1 hour. You may repeat the class up to three times for a maximum of 3 hours credit.

Objectives

to interact with and learn from people whose social backgrounds and life experiences are very different from your own
to gain a deeper understanding of the criminal justice system and the criminal mind by interacting with inmates in a controlled setting.
