Available Bellarmine Scholarships:

Scholarship applications become available to students once the Study Abroad Application has been submitted. Not all programs are eligible for scholarships if they are already subsizided by the University.


Study Abroad & International Education Award
- All study abroad students are eligible to apply for this award.
- The maximum amount available is 10% of the program’s total cost.
- Study Abroad & International Programs Access Award
- This is a financial need-based award; all students are eligible to apply, but
additional information must be provided for consideration. This calculation may
be different from your general Bellarmine financial need estimate.


Thomas Merton International Experience and Reflection Scholarship
- Thomas Merton is the author of more than seventy books that include poetry,
personal journals, collections of letters, social criticism, and writings on peace,
justice, and ecumenism (add citation). Students who are awarded this scholarship
will be expected to share their stories through a variety of ways.
- Students must submit a proposal outline for their reflection of their study abroad
experience and how that applies to Thomas Merton’s ideas.

Pioneer Scholars Study Abroad Scholarship
- This scholarship is awarded to 2 first-generation students per year. This means
you are the first to graduate from a 4-year institution within your family.

The Ferguson Fund
- This is an award for students who desire to complete a meticulous academic study
during their study abroad experience.
- To be eligible for this award, students must prepare and propose an independent
study or research project related to their major or their desired international
location. Once this application is completed, in order to move on, the student must
be nominated by a member of Bellarmine faculty accustomed with the student’s
work. The student’s proposal must also be nominated by a secondary Bellarmine
faculty member.

Kasdan England & Ireland Scholarship
- This scholarship is awarded to 1-2 students per year who are studying in England
or Ireland. This award can only be received once per student.
- William & Opsie Banks Memorial Scholarship
- This award is for students who plan to study abroad in a non-traditional setting,
with preference for a location in Asia or Africa.

Len & Susan Spalding Scholarship
- This award is for undergraduate students within the W. Fielding Rubel School of
Business. This award can only be received once per student.
- Kevin L.‘84 & Marcella Brown Study Abroad Scholarship
- This award is for students within the W. Fielding Rubel School. This award is
given to 1-2 students each year and can only be received once per student.

Angela Petchara and Joseph W. Schmidt Scholarship
- This award is for students selected to study at Thammasat University through our
partner, ISEP. Applications for this scholarship can be submitted before
acceptance to ISEP or Thammasat University.
- This award can only be received once per student.

Christopher Alain Bosley’s Memorial Scholarship
- This award is for students who participate in the Germany Winter Program or the
Berlin Summer Program through our partner, KIIS.

Honors Competition Scholarship
- This award may have been received by the student with their admittance to
Bellarmine University and the Honors Program. There are two different amounts
given for this scholarship.
- This award can only be used one time and cannot be split or dispersed between
multiple study abroad experiences.
- The student must complete a scholarship application in order to apply a
previously awarded scholarship to their program/experience of choice.

Vogt Study Abroad Scholarship
- This award may have been received by the student with their admittance to
Bellarmine University.
- This award can only be used one time and cannot be split or dispersed between
multiple study abroad experiences.
- The student must complete a scholarship application in order to apply a
previously awarded scholarship to their program/experience of choice.
