The Exercise Science and Respiratory Therapy Departments are housed at the Flynn Building (1961 Bishop Lane). The Flynn Building has the classroom, lab space, as well as state-of-the-art equipment needed to accommodate the rapid enrollment growth in Bellarmine University’s popular respiratory therapy and exercise science programs. The Flynn Building includes four classrooms, lab space, 10 offices, faculty and staff lounges, and shower and laundry facilities. In the bright and welcoming newly renovated building, exercise-science students can perform their research in a dedicated laboratory that features weight equipment, an indoor track, metabolic carts and a state-of-the-art hydrostatic weighing tank. In the respiratory therapy lab, students have access to equipment that measures pulmonary function as well as current-generation mechanical ventilators and monitoring equipment – the same machines being used in hospitals today.
