Bellarmine Pre-PT

Pre-Physical Therapy Studies

Among the most popular options for pre-professional studies among Exercise Science students is Pre-Physical Therapy (pre-PT), which allows students to complete the prerequisite requirements for application and admission to a physical therapy program upon completion of their undergraduate degree. Furthermore, our pre-PT Exercise Science majors are provided with the unique and enticing opportunity to apply for early entry into Bellarmine's Doctor of Physical Therapy program via one of the two following paths:

  • 3+3 Path
    • Open to Bellarmine University undergraduate students who have completed at least 60 credits (generally two full years) at Bellarmine University. Students apply for the DPT program the summer before the junior year. If accepted, a student would begin the DPT program after 3 years of undergraduate coursework.

  • DPT Direct Path
    • Designed for high school seniors admitted to Bellarmine University who intend to pursue admission to the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program (DPT) immediately following their undergraduate pursuit. Students admitted to the DPT Direct program matriculate as undergraduate students at Bellarmine University and can apply for the DPT program either the summer prior to Junior year or the summer prior to Senior year of undergraduate coursework.
