Chair and Professor, Department of Exercise Science at Bellarmine University; 3-degree alumnus from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; terminal degree, 2013, PhD in Kinesiology, emphasis in Exercise Psychology; Physical Activity and Public Health Specialist; scholarship lies at the intersection of behavioral kinesiology and community health; areas of interest include the design, implementation, and evaluation of behavioral interventions aimed at improving health, function, and quality of life, as well as the examination of psychosocial and environmental determinants of physical activity; clinical research employs a social cognitive framework to examine and promote physical activity behaviors in various populations; community-engaged endeavors utilize a social ecological approach to study, advance, and support active living environments; primary courses taught include: EXSC 230, Physical Activity across the Lifespan; EXSC 365, Health Behavior Theory; and EXSC 415: Community Wellness & Engagement.
