Friendly Tips for Students with IEP or 504 Plans
If you have an IEP (Individualized Education Plan) or a 504 Plan, you can still thrive in Dual Credit courses—but it’s important to understand how accommodations work in different settings.
Accommodations for Dual Credit at Your High School
If you’re taking Dual Credit courses at your high school, your school will ensure you receive accommodations as outlined in your plan.
Accommodations for Dual Credit at a College or Online
If you’re taking courses on a college campus or online, accommodations are handled differently than in high school. Colleges have their own policies, which means the support you receive may not be identical to your high school accommodations.
Important Step: Your high school must inform the college about your need for accommodations. We strongly encourage you and your school counselor to work closely with the college’s accessibility coordinator to ensure a smooth transition.
