Dropping or Withdrawing from Dual Credit Courses
Sometimes, the dual credit course you signed up for just isn’t the right fit—and that’s okay! Here’s what you need to know to make the best decision:
Thinking About Dropping? Act Fast!
- If you drop within the first week of the semester (by Bellarmine University’s official drop date), it’s a clean break—no tuition, no fees, no grade impact.
- Miss that deadline? Keep reading.
Withdrawing After the Drop Date
- You’ll still be responsible for tuition and fees.
- A "W" (Withdrawal) will appear on both your high school and college transcripts. This won’t affect your GPA, but it could impact financial aid later.
- To officially withdraw, submit a completed withdrawal form by the deadline (check the Bellarmine University Academic calendar—dates vary by course).
Things to Consider Before Withdrawing
Deadlines Matter – Different courses may have different withdrawal dates. Check your syllabus or reach out to the Admissions/Registrar Office.
Multiple Withdrawals = A Required Meeting – If you withdraw from two or more courses in a semester, you’ll need to meet with your School Counselor before enrolling in future courses.
Financial Aid Impact – Too many "W"s on your transcript could affect your eligibility for financial aid in the future.
