Navigating Your Learning Platforms: Moodle & Kaltura

If you’re taking a Dual Credit course on Bellarmine’s campus or online, Moodle and Kaltura will be essential tools for accessing course materials, submitting assignments, and engaging with your professors.

If you’re taking a Dual Credit course at your local high school, you may not need to use Moodle, as your teacher will provide instructions on how to access course content.

How to Access Moodle

Once you’ve completed registration and have a Bellarmine University account, you’ll be able to log in to Moodle.

Steps to Get Started:

  1. Log in to Moodle using your Bellarmine credentials.
  2. In the upper right corner, click on “Open Block Drawer”.
  3. Under Universal Resources, select “Online Orientation”.
  4. Navigate to Module 2: Tech Skills & Tools, then click “Moodle Skills” to watch a brief tutorial video on how to use Moodle effectively.

Using Kaltura for Video Learning

Kaltura is Bellarmine’s integrated video platform within Moodle. Professors may use Kaltura for lectures, recorded lessons, and student submissions. Be sure to check your course requirements and familiarize yourself with how to access and use Kaltura within Moodle.

Mobile Viewing Tips:

  • If accessing Moodle on a mobile device, use landscape (horizontal) mode in a supported browser for the best experience.
  • The Moodle app for iOS or Android is not fully supported, so we recommend using a browser for access.

By mastering Moodle and Kaltura, you’ll be well-equipped to navigate your Dual Credit courses like a pro. Get familiar with these tools early and set yourself up for success!
