Attention Districts & High School Administrators
To teach a dual credit course, secondary school teachers must be approved by Bellarmine University and meet the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) Guidelines for Faculty Credentials,
as well as Bellarmine’s internal faculty qualification standards.
Dual credit faculty must meet the same academic and professional standards as instructors teaching on Bellarmine’s campus to ensure rigorous, college-level instruction.
Faculty Credentialing Requirements
- As a Dual Credit faculty member, you’ll need to demonstrate your qualifications by submitting the following:
- Official College Transcripts – Verifying degree(s) earned.
- Current CV or Résumé – Documenting teaching experience and work history.
- Proof of Relevant Work Experience – Submit official documentation (such as letters from employers or position descriptions) to support your expertise in the subject area, as needed to comply with SACSCOC accreditation standards.
- Industry Certifications or Licenses – If applicable to the course being taught, provide copies of current certifications or licenses, as needed to meet SACSCOC credentialing requirements.
- Additional Documentation – ou may be asked to submit other materials to support your qualifications, as needed to comply with Bellarmine University policy and SACSCOC guidelines.
Important Considerations
- Qualifications may vary by course and discipline, even within the same subject area.
- Bellarmine University reviews and verifies instructor credentials to ensure compliance.
- Instructors may NOT teach dual credit courses until the credentialing process is fully completed and approved.
By maintaining high standards for dual credit faculty, we ensure students receive a true college experience while upholding SACSCOC accreditation requirements.
