Bellarmine University Requirements for Dual Credit Courses
Dual credit courses taught at high schools are official Bellarmine University courses and appear on university transcripts. Because of this, they must meet the same academic standards as courses taught on campus.
University Oversight & Academic Standards
- University faculty are responsible for ensuring course content and learning outcomes align with Bellarmine’s academic expectations.
- Syllabi, assessments, and learning outcomes must reflect the rigor and structure of equivalent on-campus courses.
- University administrators and faculty will conduct oversight through syllabus reviews, assessment evaluations, and classroom visits.
What to Expect from a Site Visit
- Faculty Liaisons Will Observe Your Classroom – Bellarmine faculty liaisons periodically visit dual credit classrooms to ensure that course delivery, assignments, and assessments align with university expectations.
- Pre- and Post-Observation Meetings – Your faculty liaison will meet with you before and after the classroom visit to discuss observations, provide feedback, and offer support.
- Documentation & Reporting – A summary of the visit will be shared with you, the dean overseeing your course, and the chief academic officer to maintain transparency and continuous improvement.
By maintaining these rigorous standards, we ensure that dual credit students receive a true college experience, setting them up for success in their academic journey!
