Group Therapy Offerings Spring 2019

Group therapy is a valuable tool for helping people with a variety of presenting concerns. Group therapy can offer a space to get support, feel understood, receive feedback, develop new coping skills, enhance social skills and help support other members along the way. This semester we are offering the following groups:

How do I sign up?

  • If you are already in therapy, speak with your counselor and they can refer you to the group. Then you will receive a phone call from the group co-leader to schedule a group screening.
  • If you are not in counseling, complete the Counseling Center’s Wufoo Interest Form or call the main Counseling Center number (502.272.8480) and request to speak with the group co-leader. If no one is able to answer the phone immediately when you call, please leave a voicemail and we will return your call as soon as possible.

The group co-leader will schedule a group screening appointment with you so you can meet the co-leader, learn more about the group, and collaboratively determine if it is a good fit for you.

What about confidentiality?

Group members are expected to maintain the confidence of other participants. Group members can discuss their own, personal experience of the group with others, but should not disclose names of people who also attend the group with them or anything that other members have shared in group.

Where are the groups located?

All groups are held in the Bellarmine University Counseling Center Group Room, in Allen Hall Suite 403.
