Dominique M ClaytonDr. Dominique Clayton is a proud native of Chicago, IL. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Beloit College and a Master of Arts and Ph.D. in Educational Policy Studies, specializing in social and cultural foundations of education and writing studies, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Clayton’s interests include studying the ways in which African American English speakers navigate school spaces, the racialization of language practices and language ideologies, the identity development of college students as writers, underrepresented student schooling experiences and critical race theory.

In her free time, she enjoys reading, practicing yoga, watching TV, hiking and spending time with friends and family.
