Office of Institutional Research & Effectiveness

Office of Institutional Effectiveness

Mission

The mission of the Office of Institutional Research & Effectiveness is to deliver accurate, timely, and insightful information to Bellarmine University faculty, staff, and administrators in support of strategic planning, assessment, accreditation, and compliance with required external reporting.

To achieve these objectives, IR&E has three primary areas of responsibility:

Policy Analysis, Evaluation and Assessment

IR&E collects, organizes, and analyzes institutional and other data to support institutional management practices and operations. As a partner with (and resource to) academic affairs and information technology, as well as the faculty and staff that comprise BU's schools and colleges, and fellow administrative units and students, IR&E promotes a "culture of assessment" through strategic research and analysis. It administers surveys to support campus-wide effectiveness. It complements existing assessment and program evaluation efforts through the provision of resources and data.

Management Support

IR&E provides ongoing support for campus planning, enrollment management functions, student success and retention initiatives, and budgeting activities which meet the operational information needs of the University's administration.

Internal and External Compliance Reporting

IR&E coordinates efforts to report data out of various enterprise and student information systems, building a repository of consumable reports that empower end users while delivering timely and reliable custom business intelligence solutions for its various stakeholders. It maintains Bellarmine University's compliance with external reporting requirements of the federal government, the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and national organizations within the public and private sectors.

Organizational Hierarchy

The Office of Institutional Research & Effectiveness reports to the Assistant Provost for Assessment, Accreditation, and Institutional Effectiveness and is housed within the University's Division of Academic Affairs.
