Service

     Dr. Osborn has served on many committees within the college, both elective and appointive — including the Educational Affairs Committee (1977-1979, 1991-2002),  the Committee of the Faculty (1978-1979, 1985-1986), the Resource Management Committee (1987-1989), Faculty Development Committee (1978-1986), Faculty Forum Committee (1988-1992), Rank and Tenure Committee (2001-2003), and the Faculty Council (2003-2005. 2007-2009).    

       He has also been the Advisor to Beta Psi, the Bellarmine Psychology Club and the Bellarmine Chapter of the National Psychology Honor Society, Psi Chi (1972-1996), along with service for the Publications Committee as advisor to the student newspaper, The Concord (1975-1980). He has served as a judge and discussant at the Annual Academic Convention of the Kentucky Psychological Association. He has served as a judge for the Louisville Science Fair.  

       His community involvement is as a founder and board member of the Belknap Neighborhood Association (1991-2005), and as Vice President for 1996-97 and President from 1997 to 2003.  From 1980 to 1993 he was a member of Eclectic, an artist’s cooperative.  This group carried out various artistic productions and events in the Louisville and region including the “Be Famous” TV production on TMC of Louisville Access Channel, May Day in Frankfort 1981 and 1982, Windows on Third Street 1981-1982, Earth Day, Frankfort 1989, and participation in the Louisville St. Patrick’s Day Parade 1982-1993.

       From 1980 to 1990 he served as an Arbitrator for the Louisville Better Business Bureau and from 1975-1980 he served as member and Secretary of the Steering Committee of the Highland Adult Day Center of Highland Community Ministries.
