What is the Dual Enrollment Nursing Program?
The Bellarmine Dual Enrollment Nursing Program allows senior high school students to begin earning college credit while preparing for a future career in nursing. Students complete full-time course work on Bellarmine’s campus that count toward both high school graduation and the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
Who is eligible to apply?
    - Current high school juniors who will be seniors the following academic year in the following school systems:
    
        - Jefferson County Public School System
 
        - Oldham County School System
 
        - Bullitt County School System
 
        - Shelby County School System
 
    
     
    - Strong academic record - Recommended 3.0 GPA or higher
 
    - Interest in pursuing nursing as a career
 
    - Support from high school counselor/administrator
 
How does the program work?
    - Students enroll in Bellarmine coursework while completing their senior year of high school.
 
    - Courses are taught by Bellarmine faculty and follow the same curriculum as traditional BSN students.
 
    - Students gain early exposure to the nursing program and a head start on degree requirements beginning in the summer between their junior and senior year of high school.
 
    - Dual enrollment students attend class on Bellarmine’s campus Monday through Friday during the academic year and take classes with other dual enrollment students.
 
What courses will I take?
Students typically begin with foundational nursing and general education courses that fit into the BSN curriculum. Specific courses may vary depending on high school course work and Bellarmine placement.
Where are classes held?
Classes are held on Bellarmine’s campus, with some possible online/hybrid options. Students have full access to campus resources, including labs, library, and student support services.

    - Full financial details are shared during the application process.
 
    - Students who successfully complete the dual enrollment program are guaranteed a $29,000 scholarship for each remaining year of their nursing degree program.
 
Will I automatically be admitted to Bellarmine after high school?
Students who successfully complete the Dual Enrollment Nursing Program will complete a simple application and be fully admitted to Bellarmine.
How do I apply?
    - Apply during the spring of junior year for enrollment in the program during senior year.
 
    - Complete the Dual Enrollment application (available online).
 
    - Submit transcripts, counselor recommendation, and other required documents.
