The Office of Identity and Inclusion envisions the Bellarmine community as one that consists of informed leaders who are empowered to enact change. BU community members will have an appreciation for diverse cultures and perspectives with an understanding of the intersections of our identities and their impact on the lives of others. As empowered agents of change, the BU community will demonstrate inclusive practices and advocate for social change to ensure equity for all.
The mission of the Office of Identity and Inclusion is to develop and educate Bellarmine students, faculty, and staff on the power of their identities and their impact on the global community. We also serve as advocates on behalf of underrepresented populations, while promoting diversity, and encouraging community members to challenge their own personal narratives.
We fulfill this mission by providing opportunities that engage the BU community in Cultural Humility, Identity Exploration, and Social Justice, while also providing a number of Support Services with our campus partners. Through this work, we not only help to create a more inclusive campus, but also provide the tools for our community to thrive in a diversifying world.
