Dual Credit lets you earn college credits while still in high school! Here’s what you need to get started:
Kentucky State Dual Credit Requirements
- Be Enrolled in High School – Must be at a participating high school or meet homeschool eligibility.
- Meet College Admission Standards – The University reviews GPA, academics, and test scores
- Take Placement Tests – Some courses require assessments to demonstrate readiness.
- Submit Applications – Complete your college application and Dual Credit enrollment form.
- Provide Documentation (Homeschoolers) – Submit a transcript verifying grade level.
Bellarmine University Dual Credit Requirements
To participate in Bellarmine’s Dual Credit Program, you must:
- Apply for Admission – Submit the Bellarmine Dual Credit application online. It’s quick, easy, and completely free—no application fee required!
- Get Counselor Approval – High school students need counselor approval.
- Meet Academic Standards – 2.5 GPA unweighted (3.0 for homeschoolers) and placement requirements.
- Complete Prerequisites – Some courses require specific coursework.
- Enroll in Eligible Courses – Choose from approved Dual Credit classes.
- Submit the Disclosure Form – Required for participation.
- Manage Scholarship Preferences – Log into KHEAA and designate Bellarmine as your scholarship recipient.
- Complete the Dual Credit Pre-Orientation – Required before finalizing enrollment.
- Complete the Dual Credit Orientation – After being admitted to the Dual Credit Institute, you must complete the full orientation before starting classes.
Important: Dual Credit is only available while you’re enrolled in high school. Seniors cannot enroll after graduation.
