Save Big: Reduced Tuition and Scholarships for Dual Credit

Dual Credit Cost & Billing: What You Need to Know

Taking Dual Credit courses is a smart investment in your future, and Kentucky offers discounted tuition rates to make it more affordable. Here’s a breakdown of the costs, billing details, and important financial info you should keep in mind.

Tuition Rates

  • Dual Credit Courses: The tuition rate is set by the Kentucky legislature and discounted exclusively for these courses.
  • Courses Outside the Dual Credit Program: If you want to take additional courses outside the Dual Credit program, you can enroll as a dual-enrolled student at a rate of $200 per credit hour. Apply Now and select Non-Degree or Visiting Student.

Billing Details

  • Scholarship Coverage: If you’re using a scholarship, we’ll ensure it is applied before billing.
  • Billing Schedule:
    • Fall semester bills go out on October 15.
    • Spring semester bills go out on March 15.
  • If your scholarship information hasn’t been processed by these dates, you’ll receive a bill from Bellarmine University.

Tip: Keep an eye on your KHEAA account and confirm that Bellarmine University is listed as your scholarship recipient to avoid unexpected charges.

Additional Costs: Textbooks & Course Materials

  • Some high schools provide textbooks and materials, while others do not. Check with your school to find out what’s covered.
  • If your school doesn’t provide books or materials, you’re responsible for purchasing them.
  • Some courses use digital content—these charges are separate from tuition and must be paid unless covered by your school or district.

Student Holds: Don’t Let a Small Issue Slow You Down!

Got an unpaid bill or missing info on your student account? That could result in a hold on your academic record.

Why It Matters:

A hold can prevent you from registering for classes, accessing transcripts, or using other college services.

How to Fix It:

Act fast! Contact the Dual Credit Institute as soon as possible—they’re here to help you get everything sorted.

Final Takeaway:

Stay informed about tuition, check your scholarship status, and handle any financial obligations before the deadlines. Taking care of these details early means you can focus on what really matters—earning college credit and getting ahead!
