Thank you for your interest in joining Residence Life! Working in Residence Life is a unique experience because you work where you live and learn. This can provide a very challenging and rewarding experience.
We have two positions that offer students the opportunity to develop leadership, encourage organizational and time management skills, and prepare individuals for careers after graduation.
Resident Assistants (RAs)
RAs are students of sophomore, junior, or senior status who act as role models, counselors, teachers and administrators for their building. RAs work with their Residence Life Coordinator to plan programs for the building and their individual areas. They also enforce policy and communicate important information to residents. RAs are a vital part of our residence halls.
RAs receive a free single room and a meal plan as compensation.
Academic Peer Advocates (APAs)
APAs are students of sophomore, junior, or senior status who live in halls with first-year students. Their role is to help students transition into Bellarmine and succeed academically. APAs focus on establishing tutoring in the halls, creating study groups, encouraging good academic skills and planning programs in the halls. They also work to develop strong relationships with their residents.
APAs receive a free room as compensation.
Typically, RAs and APAs are hired in the spring before the upcoming academic year. Occasionally, we have openings for RA positions in the spring semester and will conduct a search for those openings at the end of the preceding fall semester.
The application for 2019-2020 is now available in Handshake. The deadline to apply is January 11, 2019.
